What are the Physical Benefits of Yin Yoga?
The (Anti-)stress Fascia Training!

We can describe yin yoga as stress-fascia training that releases an “anti-stress” reaction in the tissue.

By carrying out long-held stimulation (in the form of traction) without muscle tension, we “isolate” the fascial tissue and apply stress in a positive way.

In Yin Yoga or stress fascia training
we prise our musculature apart– or more accurately, the myofascial tissue (sheaths of the muscles) – and this eventually pulls on tendons and bones, which can lead to a change in the fascial and bone structure.

In Yin Yoga or stress fascia training
we gently prise our bones apart, or – more precisely – stimulate the joint capsules, which can create a more stable and more flexible capsule structure, keeping the joints mobile.

In Yin Yoga or stress fascia training
we stimulate and pull on all the muscles and fascia chains of the body including the connections to the organs down to each and every cell of our body (see T-shirt analogy).

In Yin Yoga or stress fascia training
we stimulate the nerves and veins, etc. through tension, as nerves and veins are held and sheathed by fascia.

In Yin Yoga or stress fascia training
we stimulate the hydration of the tissue and reorganise the water molecules in the body (see Meridian Yoga – Modern Meridian Theory).
