Yin Therapy Restorative Yoga Teacher Training (50hrs)
"How beautiful it is to do nothing, and then rest afterward." - Spanish proverb
”Hacer nada; que bueno es, despues descansar, aun mejor.”
In our fast-paced, performance-oriented, crisis-ridden lives, we often feel alone, overwhelmed and stressed.
Our response to this is often to demand more of ourselves, to want to go higher, faster and further. The result is often deep physical and mental exhaustion.
Yin Therapy consciously takes the opposite approach to create awareness of the imbalance in the body and mind through meditation, contemplation, restorative yoga and yin yoga. We begin to feel again what we need in life and learn to distinguish between the essential and the inessential.
REST – RESTORE – REGENERATE
Restorative yoga is the art of resting. Pause, let go and surrender to quiet contemplation. The passive lying postures put you in a state of mental introspection and physical relaxation. Cells regenerate and an inner balance is restored. You slowly move from a state of doing to a state of being. Restorative yoga, in its passivity, is the perfect balance to our often stressful, activity-driven world.
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." (Lao-tzu)
Welcome to Yin Therapy - Restorative Yoga Teacher Training
There are no minimum requirements for participation in the Yin Therapy – Restorative Yoga Teacher Training.
This 6 day / 50-hour intensive program (6 days) comprises 5 segments:
1. Restorative Asanas
“In stillness, the muddied water returns to clarity.” – Lao Tzu
Learn how to set up a restorative class and how to set up the fundamental restorative asanas in the supine, side and prone positions for each person individually.
2. The Practice
“No one can see their reflection in running water. It is only in still water that we can see.” - Taoist proverb
During the training, experience the benefits of a restorative practice on your own body and mind through various guided restorative classes. Long postures of up to 30 minutes put you in a state of calm introspection and regeneration. It will be a retreat and a journey to yourself.
3. The Autonomic Nervous System
"An anxious mind cannot exist in a relaxed body."
- Dr. Edmund Jacobson
Restorative yoga is the "Art of Resting." Discover how the autonomic nervous system is down-regulated and relaxed in a quiet practice (relaxation response) and thus offers the balance for a fast, performance-oriented world.
4. Just One Blanket
Not every studio is equipped with many tools. Hence, why we show different options for how to achieve down-regulation of the nervous system with just one blanket.
